Divine Insanity

As you may have noticed, I tend to use the word "crazy" quite frequently... well, that is kind of my theme of living right now. Or at least I am trying to make it more of that crazy passion for fully living for God. I mean what else is there really? A God-lead life is most definitely not a boring life! Come try and argue me... I am in the Philippines by the way, living for God. No but seriously, when we are so stoked on God and following Him and doing His will and going where He wants us to go nothing else matters, not even how we appear to the people around us. I mean just take a glance over at Hosea, Paul, Jeremiah, and Jesus... all of them were called crazy. I want to be apart of that group! Lukewarm things always suck (ie. Showers, chicken, ice-cream, water) so why should we be living these lukewarm lives so many of us are content to live? We should never be content! Where's the fun in that? Live life adventure to adventure. That's my motto. Living for Jesus is so insane! It is literally the best/coolest/most fun/most exciting/never boring life choice you could ever choose. Seriously. Hey, read Matthew 14 if you need some faith booster, Peter freaking walked on water because He followed Jesus. He asked to come out there and of course Jesus wanted Him to come! But just think about what the other guys in the boat were saying, "What the heck Peter, you're so crazy! You're totally gonna get smashed by the waves and sink to the bottom of the sea. Can you even swim? Don't do it." Well, he did it. He stepped out of that boat (out of his comfort zone) and freaking walked on water with Jesus! How many people can say they did that? One. Live passionately on fire for Christ! Everything pours out of that. Dang, God is cool.

Well, hello there. Happy New Year. I hope your New Year's celebration was special no matter how big or small. What a great year this is going to be! Seriously. So many possibilities in this year of 2012. For me I couldn't just choose one New Year's resolution, so I decided to have a ton of New Year's goals... So I guess my resolution this year would be following those dreams and making them happen. I encourage you to make a Declaration for the New Year (it's not too late). As Nike would say, "Just Do It." As you know, I am in Baguio so I got the privilege of seeing this crazy city at its craziest on New Year's Eve. Wow. Do they know how to kick off the new year or what? So. Many. Fireworks. But it was awesome. We had a fun night of games and dessert with our contacts and the Korean team, then after screaming in the New Year at midnight (ehem, we were the first of everyone we know to be in 2012) we watched Inception on the mattresses on our living room floor. Then the next morning I got the awesome opportunity to preach about joy to the Holy Ghost church. I like preaching.  So today we got to pray for governmental officials and see the city hall and even as I write this, we are preparing to go on a prayer walk around the park. Take advantage of every opportunity and listen to His plans (they always win).
Yours truly always,
Rachael
