Kona Week

It has been a few days but the message is still the same: staying at the Kona base was a really inspirational time in my life. I mean seriously; in Kona I got to worship with hundreds of other people my age who are passionate about living for God, I got to meet so many new people that were just the most amazing thing ever, I broke off some 'chains', met the founders of YWAM, was blessed with my prayer language (holy cow. the most amazing experience.), got to experience what it is like to be 'drunk with joy' (my Holy Spirit baptism and I could NOT stop laughing for an hour), went on stage in front of 800+ people and shared what God has been doing in my life these last few weeks, God used me to heal a broken finger through prayer (I had never done that and after we saw it was healed we both fell onto the sidewalk crying and laughing) and a pulled neck muscle, the last day's theme was generosity and we got to practice generosity so I gave my favorite sandals to my new friend Alex and they miraculously fit her perfectly and she gave me her beautiful skirt and I also got to give one of my turquoise rings to Melissa and she gave me her turquoise ring and God gave me an encouraging word to give to Drew and Rebecca (Some people were giving away their iPods and receiving iPods from random strangers and a bunch of the girls in my DTS gave away their cameras and received even better cameras), during a thunderstorm we danced and ran around and got soaking wet, United Pursuit was leading worship so can you say 'amazing?', confrontation finally occurred and worked out perfectly, there was some long boarding, there was some unintentional-middle-of-the-night-witnessing with Tim to a man who was going through some crazy stuff, Dragon fruit shaved ice with coconut soft-serve, realizing that God is calling me up to be a leader (and giving me the opportunities to live it out), immense joy for the first time in my life, feeling cold for the first time in a very long time, prayer and tea and girl-talk-real-talk at the cafe with Tara, Liz, Alex and I, $19 Kona coffee, going to the airport barefoot and being on the airplane barefoot and not being questioned, visions from God and being blessed with someone who can interpret them, talking to my sissy and mom and dad and brother, pb&j bar, and seeing so many people with shaved parts of their heads (no mom, I'm not the only weird one, there are more of us.)

Anyways, I feel like that was the longest run-on sentence ever so with that I will say goodnight because currently it is 1:08 am and I have to wake up for breakfast at 7:00 am... but hey, it's better than Kona's 6:00am breakfast... and we have french toast...

Love, Rachael
